چکیده

The understanding of the effects multidirectional loadings imposed on major load bearing elements such as reinforced concrete (RC) columns by seismic actions for collapse prevention is utmost importance, and a few simplified models are available in literature. In this study, distinguishing features two machine-learning (ML) methods, namely, multi expression programming (MEP) adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) exploited first time to develop eight novel prediction (M1-to M4-MEP M1-to M4-ANFIS) with different combinations input parameters predict biaxial shear strength RC (V). performance developed was assessed using various statistical indicators comparing them experimental values. Based analysis models, M1-ANFIS M1-MEP performed very well exhibited best overall efficiency studied ML methods. Simple mathematical formulations were also provided MEP algorithm V, which model finalized based its performance, accuracy, generalization capability. A parametric show that formulation accurately represents under consideration imperative purposes. can thus be recommended update current code provisions engineering practices.

Compressive Strength Prediction by ANN Formulation Approach for FRP Confined Rectangular Concrete Columns

Enhancement of strength and ductility is the main reason for the extensive use of FRP (fiber reinforced polymer) jackets to provide external confinement to reinforced concrete columns especially in seismic areas. Therefore, numerous researches have been carried out in order to provide a better description of the behavior of FRP confined concrete for practical design purposes. This study present...

Behavior of High-Strength Concrete Rectangular Columns

This paper summarizes the test results of an extensive research program sponsored by the US Transportation Research Board of the National Research Council to examine the behavior of high-strength concrete rectangular columns subjected to concentric and eccentric loading conditions. The variables considered in this investigation were concrete strength ranging from 7.9 ksi (55 MPa) to 16.5 ksi (1...

Confinement Characteristics of Rectangular FRP-Jacketed RC Columns

In this study, FRP jackets were investigated for their confinement effectiveness on rectangular RC columns. Thirteen reduced-scale short columns were tested to failure in axial compression. Variables investigated include: the type of fibers (AFRP, CFRP or GFRP), the thickness of the jacket, the aspect ratio of the rectangular cross section and the radii of the corners. For square columns, GFRP ...
